THE HOLY GRAIL – KNIGHTS TEMPLAR
Kilwinning and Irvine had the highest concentration of Templar Knights in Scotland. The Templars were Europe’s bankers and when they were destroyed, none of the material was returned, it disappeared. Legend has it that Kilwinning Abbey was built by stonemasons who had travelled from Europe and established a Lodge there. So it is possible that Kilwinning could be the final resting place of the Holy Grail.
What does the Holy Grail symbolize? – Is the Holy Grail a real thing?
The Holy Grail is traditionally thought to be the cup that Jesus Christ drank from at the Last Supper and that Joseph of Arimathea used it to collect Jesus’s blood at his crucifixion. According to this theory the Holy Grail is not a physical object, but a symbol of the bloodline of Jesus.
